Brief history of the project
FMV Işık Schools Florya Campus project, located on a parcel next to Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, consists of kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and high school units that allow the K12 program. In addition to these units, the Student Center building is at the center of the project.
The main objective of the project is to provide modern education standards both indoors and outdoors while placing an intensive education program in a restricted area and to turn the building itself into a learning tool. Many areas in the project have been designed on the principle of “flexible space” with the help of elements such as movable dividers, curtains, multifunctional furniture, both as a result of the intensive training program and in order to be arranged in accordance with the constantly changing-developing functions and demands.
In order to emphasize research, collaborative work, community spirit and student-centered education, the Student Center building was placed at the center of the project and was designed as the main venue where the school came together.
